Dennis F44 No 405 Fire Engine Australia

We have purchased a Dennis F44 No 405 and have recently began to restore our engine and would like some information & history of the fire engine. We believe it was originally stationed at Newcastle or Sydney Australia and we would appreciate any assistance. Does anyone have comments about this Dennis. Can anyone also tell me how you refer to the fire engines are they a him or a her?

Pete Matten, what do you make of the ladder, thanks for any input..??

Pavel, having looked at picture 6949, this looks a typical Australian ladder. Look at other pictures under(Country)Australia section, ie...picture 441, picture 5640, picture 5820, picture 6417, etc, they all look simular and typically Australian. This actually
may not be the origanal ladder because around this time, many appliances that
were sent out may have had ladders such as Ajax or Bayley's supplied.

Pete, you're very observant, thanks. I'll have to follow up with the Museum Workshop guys here to see if they have had simular. Steve, is there any manufacturer's name on the ladder? No doubt the Penrith NSW Museum could enlighten us, , , ,
