Ron, Mike I last saw this machine last year at a yard in North Yorks, South of Ripon sheeted up I believe it is still there.

Thanks, Gordon. Ron and I have done some research recently, it appears to be an Alfred Miles machine, built at Cheltenham for the PSF/BMC Cowley works, where it was designed for factory work, thats why there's no roof ! MW

Would the Miles body on this be of aluminum construction, as was their trademark of using aircraft industry construction techniques

This reminds me of the style of machines that wre exported to south Africa, Was this a cancelled export order?.

It would make a wonderful restoration project, a unique vehicle ! I am not sure if there is any timber in the bodywork, true to say that Miles used mostly alluminium, but I can't confirm. Miles built it as a 'one off' for PSF.

As it was a factory appliance, there was no need for a crew cab. But I am a bit surprised Miles did not just use the factory cowl, front doors and windscreen.
