Pure nostalgia - Chelmsford Avenue Grimsby

The successor to GUC 624 (picture 25688) arrived at Chelmsford Avenue in late 1959,and the old timer was stood down. MEE 247 Dennis F24 with 300g tank was designed to run as a PE. This picture was taken very shortly after delivery and as can be seen she sported all alloy body work (shock!)and an Ajax wooden ladder. This disappeared almost immediately (?) and MEE 247 ran as a PE until scrapping in 1969, although she did occasionally run as a P/ST/ET
