Bedford TJ5 & J2 1999.

This photo i took when i owned 997 NUO which was in service with Devon Fire Service and next to it is RYC 470F which was in service with Somerset Fire Brigade and both Bodies by HCB Angus.Notice how smaller the wheels are on my one and no cab doors.

the older one with 6 stud wheels is a 7.5 ton chassis, the other with 8 stud wheels is over the 7.5 ton up to 14 ton where 10 stud wheels start. looking at the picture I would guess she's 10 ton.

RYC470F is I believe a Bedford TJ4L if that is of any help. It was based at Somerton from new in 1968 until early 1981 when I think it became a reserve and finally withdrawn in 1982.

997 NUO is a Bedford J2/HCB. Several of these smaller Bedford chassis were manufactured. Anglesey Fire Department had one at Holyhead designated as a HrT. NEY 326 was later allocated to Rhosneigr in the early 1970's when the town started a fire team. On transferral to Gwynedd in 1974 she was further reallocated to Dolgellau and ended her days at Wylfa Nuclear power station on Anglesey. Located in 1995 at a garage in Amlwch, she has since been scrapped and the registration plate transferred onto another vehicle.

Hi andrew middleton. I now own 997nuo. I am now in wiltshire it start it in colyton devon in 1963 from then it had 8 keeper then I now own it from dec 2015 was now on the at the last time it was 2008 year and need £1500 I have just put on her to get her back on the in may 2016 but just to say see was in yard bye the m25 near london which is 97 miles from where I am in Minety in wiltshire.
