Trans Pennine Run August 2008 - Leyland FT1

The Historic Commercial Vehicle Society organises a run from Manchester to Harrogate each year. The run takes you over the Pennine hills, so there are plenty of long steep climbs to make your engine work hard. The fire engine entries were down this year. However this magnificent Leyland FT1 really stood out. Built in 1931 it was named 'Vivien' after the mayoress of Wisbech where it served until 1963.

What can one say about this vehicle only that it's absolutely beautiful, just fantastic, like to see it one day.
