The East Sussex Fire Brigade operated three of these Ford Transits as
rescue tenders.These were based at Preston Circus(Brighton), Battle,
and Uckfield.All three were replaced by unusual looking appliances
based on three axle jeep chassis in the early 1980's.

The first two of these Transits were received shortly after 1st April, 1974 when ESFB was formed. They went to 12 Uckfield, and 18 Battle replacing Land Rovers. The 3rd at 4 Preston Circus followed a year or two later when it replaced the Bedford Miles ET, which became a BAT/ST, which in turn replaced the Karrier BAT at Hove. Incidentally, these Transits were always designated Recue Tenders, and never ETs.
