Sabic Innovative Plastics Works Fire brigade

Yesterday a new industrial fire engine was making it's demo tour in our area I asked if it was possible to pass by our fire station, which they did.

Sorry I haven't got all the details, but there are 2 of this units almost identical. The other one has a smaller foam concentrate tank (2,500 liters) and more equipment on HazMat.

Both units built by Ziegler (Netherlands) within one year price tag is around 750.000 Euros.

This "Beast" delivers 8,000 liters p.m. and have a combined medium/low pressure pump.

Foam concentrate is stored in 3 separate tanks together of 7500 liters, 2500 liters watertank. Story is if maybe fully fed can delivered up to 12,000 lpm.

The lucky owner of these two units is "Sabic Innovative Plastic ( formerly known as GE Plastics) in Bergen op Zoom; Netherlands.

It would seem that a plastics factory is probably second only to an oil refinery in presenting a serious fire risk!

No surprise that this four axle rig and its sister dwarf most municipal fire engines in both size and capabilities...
