I remember this machine racing through the streets in the 1950's onwards in Nottingham. I believe it had a mechanical siren at that time, which they probable removed. It looks in fine (as new) condition.

ACT Fire Brigade Museum is currently restoring a Dennis F12. This is the limousine body which carried a wheeled escape. The members who dismantled this motor have passed on and unfortunately digital photos were unavailable when dismantled. In particular I am chasing the attachment of a dampener that is located to the side of the gearbox or the clutch housing and attaches to the chassis. It appears to be that it may attach to the clutch housing as the piece has holes that correspond to the gear box/clutch housing bolts. However the design is such that it should arc from the nearer hole which has a bush inserted to somewhere else. Would you be able to take photos of the attachment points and email back to me. You can view the F12 by going to the Canberra Fire Brigade Museum web site, it is featured on the front page. Thankyou in anticipation of a positive outcome. Phil Donoghoe Retired Senior Officer.
