Suffolk Fire and Rescue - Sudbury tanker

This is Sudbury's Water Bowser. (F518 HRC) Converted from an old Dairy Crest milk tanker, this fire appliance is one of the few in the modern brigade to still have manual transmission. It can carry up to 9000 litres of water and its main use is for field fires or incidents where a lack of hydrants or too many fire appliances mean not enough water.

It is seen here in its home town of Sudbury at an 8 pump chemcial drill!
