Typical English weather Barry for this time of year. The picture though
is just brilliant and was well worth standing out in the rain for. This
is one Bedford I've not seen before and a classic to add to the site
from such an historical period(1939-45)in British firefighting history.

Pete...At least they were dry inside...Check out picture 8367, this appliance was driven on the Tyne-Tees Run in all that rain. I know how hard it was raining as I was a Marshal at Bents Park at South Shields where these photos were taken.

Barry, its a shame 'YatMing' had'nt put this one into there collection of old-time British fire engines models-only just the three, Its a classic from a golden era in British fire fighting history, and a classic for the model collector.
Malcolm Paul, do you own this appliance by any chance?.I would love to see it at the Odiham Show next(2009)year.

This Bedford was aregular on the rally scene in Aberdeenshire in the 1970's and 80's. I believe the body style was originally a variation on the Heavy unit with a Coventry Climax FF pump unit mounted transversely at rear of chassis (like the one featured in Salvage Squad). Good to see her still around and getting out.

Bodied by AC Cars apparently.
