Merseyside F&RS - Combined Pump Platform

Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service recently purchased this Scania P310 6x2/JDC/Vema CPP (Combined Pump Platform). It will be going operational at C2 Liverpool City Fire Station within the next couple of weeks.

It will be interesting to see over the next few months if this cost-cutting
idea of a new appliance(pump/aerial)does really work. The comments so far in
regards to simular such vehicles is poor, very poor.(NOT MY COMMENTS)

I heard similar things myself Pete, I think the only reason this appliance was purchased was for saving money. Interestingly, the station its going to has numerous small terraced streets in its area - not ideal for a vehicle of this size.

I think they should have kept it pump/ turntable ladder and not merged the 2 together!

Both Very relavent points Pete and Andy!!! Wonder if the MF&RS though about the streets??!

Obviously Merseyside have not been keeping up to date with Strathclyde's experience of this type of appliance. They have had these on the run for nearly 3 years now and feedback is not good, including 1 rolling over while being driven at low speed.

And this is the exact model that rolled over, this is the CARP designed by Strathclyde and Vema, who have since being tying desperately to sell on to other FRSs.
