Fire Engines Photos

I do not know if York City station still has two TLs on the run, but for many years after the Minster fire it was probably the only station in Britain to have two. That fire was in the roof, and although surrounding retained stations could provide enough pumps, the second TL had to come all the way from Harrogate, as I recall, which took quite a while.

When I was in York last year they only had 1 Aerial, Mercedes Econic/Angloco/Bronto MDT32 Reg no.YD52TWW. Also present were 2 Volvo FLH/Emergency One RP's and a Land Rover towing a Boat. I understand things may be changing following a cover review, with one RP moving to Huntingdon and possibly the City station being relocated. Not the same without PAJ there though!
