Dennis 1939 Fire tender

FJH 324 1939 DENNIS Light Four fire tender.
Dennis 4cyl. 3769cc petrol engine. Braidwood body with enclosed cab. Dennis No.2. 500gpm pump.
This appliance was supplied new to Watford Rural District Council, working after the War with Hertfordshire Fire Brigade until 1957, when it was sold to Murphy Chemical Co. of Wheathampstead for use as a works fire engine.

The light 4 is a favourite of mine as I am restoring one, my truck is similar but has the new world body. Do you have any photo's of the pump.

Good shot - having the crew hanging on to their Pump in period World War 2 uniforms really adds to it, as well as giving scale. Previous Posting - "New World" body is where the crew sit inside?
