SAFirey, I'm looking at the single rear axle and turning over in my head loadings when you take into account the boom and associated mechanics, the equipment stowed in the lockers both sides of the appliance, any water that may be carried on board, stick four well fed and well paid firefighters in the front over the steerers (front axle) and you must be getting fairly close to the limit, the hose reel/s alone if in charged condition and fuel tank/s, etc, etc. Does it all stack up okay? We're not going down the road of our British counterparts I trust, mind you in their case we're talking serious aerial gear, ,

It wouldn't be the first time fire engine "specialist" builders overloaded a perfectly innocent truck chassis! Unfotunatley, there are oodles of examples on these pages.

It just seems to be only too tempting to keep adding specification and equipment items in pursuit of the dream of a single fire engine which can do anything and everything - and preferably with a tiny crew too, to keep payroll costs down at the same time!
