This is the original siren fitted to the appliance in 1940. First stationed at Victoria Park, a suburb immediately east of the City of Perth. It did not have a first aid hose reel and was reliant on water supply from fire hydrants or drafting from open water. The last posting of this machine was to the country farming centre of Wyalkatchem, which was an active Volunteer Brigade.

In 1975 the siren became faulty and was sent to Perth for repairs. However, in the same year the Brigade received a new appliance and the Dodge was retired. The siren remained packaged and addressed back to the Wyalkatchem brigade, and was overlooked in the stores before being discovered and reunited with this historical machine many decades later.
