Fulton County Fire Dept Eng. 1 was an FMC/Ford cabover 1000gpm, 500gal tank. Station 1 is located in the Red Oak, Georgia area near the ATL/Hartsfield Intn'l Airport. A lot of the Fulton Co. FD has been absorbed by smaller cities such as Sandy Springs, Milton and John's Creek. I don't know who will pick up sta. 1, maybe Union City?

FMC ("Food Machinery Corporation") built mainly on commercial chassis, and is one of dozens of US fire engine builders to have gone out of business in past years.

The Ford C Series chassis was built from 1957 to 1990 and was in its day a very advanced tilt-cab design. Due to the availability of quite powerful engine options, it was very popular for fire apparatus applications, and the fact that Ford truck dealers were everywhere contributed to its sales success too.

Not only were Fords popular with budget-conscious volunteer companies and small town fire departments, they were also to be found on the rosters of almost every major city in North America. These C series served as pumpers, aerials, snorkels, quints, rescues, tankers, foam tenders and almost everything else you can think of...
