Nice looking full tilt crew cab. This was not something to be found on similar chassis with fire appliance bodies built in the UK, as these seemed to have split tilt designs, often rather poorly integrated with the original factory truck cab contours.
Not always, Fulton & Wylie did some lovely full tilt cabs on some appliances for Central Scotland and others, as seen in picture 1026 & #23419

Andy - These were Volvos, and Saxon also did a very spacious and well styled full tilt Volvo crew cab. In addition, Reliant built 11 four door tilting crew cabs on D1317 chassis for Greater Manchester, sold by Merryweather as their "Marksman" - but as I mentioned I do not know about any tilting crew cab conversions in the UK on Dodge chassis. Having seen a lot of full tilt crew cabs in foreign countries in recent years, especially in the US and Germany, they are now going out of fashion. The reason seems to be because split tilt designs usually afford better access for most service and maintenance tasks.
Ed: The Merryweather Marksman was ordered by Lancashire not Manchester though some were absorbed by GMC and Merseyside on re-organisation in 1974 - see
