Does anybody know what sort of appliance has replaced this one, going by some 2006 information the fire service at Lindsey Oil Refinery has got a Ford Transit LWB, a Volvo FL10 Water/Foam Tender, a Volvo FL10 with de-mountable body, a Mk1 Ford Transit Ambulance and a 1989 Mercedes Ambulance

i worked at conoco about 6months ago, next door to lor and this tanker was still on the run, it also went to the big fire at buncefield.ive been told that on the way to the fire or coming back to station it was rolled over. but repaired and runs along side the FL10 .
As of 2009, the LOR/Conoco Refinery Joint Fire Service has the Volvo FL10 6x4 FoT, a Volvo FL10 8x4 prime mover, two identical 56-plate Volvo FM9 8x4 prime movers, a 58-plate Mercedes Sprinter, two Defender 110 Stationwagons and various demountable foam pods (not sure what ambulances though).
A Ford Cargo tandem axle chassis in service in the UK as a foam tanker is a rather unusual sight. Although the preceding D series was quite popular with fire services in quite a few countries, the Cargo saw popularity with fire services in only a few places where it was manufactured under license. These included Argentina, Brazil and Turkey. There are several examples on this site.
