What a beast of a truck! Do you have any more pictures of the ACT bushfire council / ACT Bushfire Service / ACT Rural Fire Service appliances?

A staff member of the Fire Museum has said that the Ford is still in service with the Guises Creek Brigade but is due for disposal in the near future. The Museum is hoping that the Emergency Services Agency (ESA) will donate the vehicle to the Museum before it ends its life rusting away in a paddock somewhere.

i found some other pics of "The Lois" as it is/was known. This is early 1980's, no call sign signage but from memory it was Unit 5. It has had several name changes since. apma.org.au/reference/emergencyservices/bushfire/ford/ford.html

Oops- Typo, this magnificent rig was not "THE LOIS", but "THE LOUIS".

ESA has sent the Louis to be auctioned in March 2010. Quite a sad day too see such an vehicle being sold off rather than being preserved.
