Fire Engines Photos

Nice photo, i used to spend hours sat down near the fire station armed with my camera.

Noticed that the 2nd pump nx54dkj is not on this picture, was it off the run yet again?

Hope you keep uploading pictures of North Yorkshire machines, do you have any old appliance pictures?, thanks, John.

Thanks John. I think when this photo was taken the 2nd pump from York was at the Volvo dealers having a new back axle fitted. I have some older North Yorkshire appliance photos and will submit them from time to time.

Good photo, I spent a couple of nights in a hotel, directly across the road from the station. It's a lovely building and would be a shame if they were to move to another location, I read somewhere that that was the plan. Anyway, the crews were in and out on calls all through the night.

Thanks for the comments Dave, proposals are being looked at to either move the station or refurbish the existing one. It's been a fire station since 1938 after conversion from a Chapel, It would be a shame to move it. It has it's busy moments still.
