Tyne and Wear Iveco Magirus TL

Tyne and Wear alwyas used to run 3TL's from the early 60's. Following on from 3 AEC Merryweathers came 5 Dennis Magirus TL's. The last TL to enter the fleet is shown above. Pictured outside the old Fossway fire station which has now been demolished, F03 now resides 400 yards away at the new Newcastle East Fire station. This machine has been very reliable and has hardly ever been off the run apart from routine maintenance. The other two aerials in the fleet are Brontos.

Barry,
That TL has been up into Northumberland this morning, for a SSC at Swarland.

That rises an interesting question, am I right in assuming Northumberland doesn't have any aerial appliances? Why not? Are they the only service in the UK not to have one? Thanks

David, for the moment Northumberland is the only brigade without a aerial appliance but there is talk of one of these combined pump/aerial appliances for them.
