This beautiful looking watertender was part of the Works Fire brigade Johson Wax/Europlant in Mijdrecht (The Netherlands). Before this carreer it was in service with the Fire brigade Amstelveen. Building year is 1965. Bodywork is from Kronenburg. It's a Magirus-Saturn 125F
Pumpcapacity : 2400 l/m low pressure, unknown capacity high pressure pump. Watertank : 1700 litres water, 325 litres foam concentrate.
It came into service in 1981. In 1991 it moved to Russia.

Sadly enough there is some damage to the photo negative

1965 was the first year Magirus built any forward control chassis: everything up to then had been the normal control configuration, including the very distinctive and extremely popular "Rundhauber" with its rounded hood - possible because they were all air cooled, so there was no radiator!

But forward control fire trucks took a long time to catch on in Germany, and these Saturn fire engines are quite rare...
