This generation of 6 to 9 ton Magirus Deutz trucks and vans were rebadged FIAT vehicles, originally designed and built by OM - another Italian manufacturer which was merged into FIAT. Never very successful, they competed for fire service roles principally with the 6 and 8 ton Mercedes offerings, which were already well established and had a great reputation for reliability and durability.
