This is a former LFB Comer. Features in the latest Classic Commercial magazine ( i thinks its that mag!!) The Only one of its kind left if memory serves me correct.
The Commer Cob(London Fire Brigade)dates from 1966 and is registered JYW 34D. It was BACV(Breathing Apparatus Control Van)34 and one of these went to each of the four LCC LFB Divisions pre-1965.The vehicle was bought to enlarge the fleet of BACV's for London following the 1965 re-organisation. The Trailor Pump is a Coventry Climax FSM-Type Light-Trailor Pump. This actual type of pump was produced in there hundreds in conjunction with the Home- Office at the outbreak of war and were used for first attendence at Air Raid fires. This type of trailor pump were not the most popular due to having only a 214-gpm Godiva single-stage centrifugal pump output. The pump was driven by a Coventry Climax four-stroke, four-cylider, water-cooled petrol engine.

Thanks for that Ian, yes I should have looked closer at the photo and not taken the info from a book which I have which shows JYW 34D. I think this 1965 Commer Cob is the only one left in presevation.

Thanks, Pete, I had heard of the famed Coventry Climax Trailer Pumps in WW-2; and after the war, of the engine being readily available to the sports-car fraternity.
