Apart from the increased amount of yellow paint - a big trend in France - the main difference seems to be the remote control monitor on the cab roof. A very sensible idea, and much less likely to get damaged when compared to the bumper mounted alternative. Both of these are on the custom high ground clearance short wheelbase Renault 4X4 chassis, with the classic compact four person crew cab. (The rear seat passengers sit sideways) This has been around for many years and is a less expensive alternative when compared to the Unimog, which is of course a shade more competent off road but a lot more pricey.
Still, many departments and the BMPM use a lot of Mogs, and some departments favor a very similar MAN chassis too. All of these are bodied and equipped by French firms though.
It seems that some are now making inroads with brush truck bodies for export to other countries too, as more Northern communities realize they too need dedicated brush trucks to counter the threat of forest and brush fires increasing with global warming.
