Successive generations of these combined pump-ambulances have increased their pump and tank capacities - and added other improvements in functionality without ever increasing the footprint of the vehicle. This is a major accomplishment when taking into account that its compact dimensions are a necessity in this crowded city with its many very narrow streets.
