The latest addition to the fleet of Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service is this brand new DAF LF Incident Support Unit built by WH Bence.
It is used primarily as a welfare unit at protracted incident and is equipped with toilet facilities, rest areas and such like.
It is based at Bispham Fire Station.

Seems pretty enormous for the role it has, when compared to similar supporting units in other places. FDNY has Sprinter vans for its R&R needs.

Tokyo FD had 1 welfare unit dispatched in every of the 10 districts since 80's/90's

Looking at the Tokyo example, it would seem to be the exception to the usual situation, where Japanese fire service vehicles tend most often to be smaller than is common elsewhere.
