This turnout brings two pumps, a basic life support ambulance and a ladder truck to the incident with thirteen firefighters, all combined into three relatively compact and maneuverable vehicles.

Across much of the metropolitan Paris area covered by the BSPP this combination of a pumper- ambulance, a pump water tender and a 30 metre ladder is the “depart normal’ or standard first turnout. In what are considered high risk areas, the second pumper is usually a heavy pump with a larger crew, often seen along with an FA tender with both 2000 liters of foam and two kilometers of LDH.
