Designed originally (as pointed out by J-P) for the Stuttgart fire brigade, the KS25 was the most powerful general purpose pumper in use in Germany at the time of its introduction, which was the reason it had such a monster engine and a massive crew. The full width crew seats necessary to accommodate everyone were an innovative idea back then.
