Looks like a blackout light? Seen similar on military vehicles.

Thanks! An interesting addition, but it does somewhat detract from the otherwise original appearance of this century old historical artifact. It reminds me of a few restored Dennis F12s I have come across -some of which are original except that the original semaphore indicators have been replaced by amber flashers!
