Single two man hose cart for 75mm hose. With Stortz couplings, this heavy hose could be used either for hydrant connection or to advance an attack line. In the second case, it would then most often be fitted with a double wye distributor. These had one 75mm to supply a ladder or ground monitor and two 52mm outlets for more manageable attack lines. More recently, German fire brigades have switched to carrying two smaller one man hose carts, each of which holds 480 meters of 75mm hose. Quite often, the second cart is nowadays used instead for warning lights, cones and signs to help protect crew members from errant motorists when dealing with fires and accidents on the high speed autobahns and other highways.
