The orange stripe on the container is an older Swiss livery idea. Although our Swiss friends have big budgets, they are also notably thrifty, so redecorating their containers to match the latest color schemes is not often considered very sensible. The same is true of quite a few German fire services too, some of whose older containers are quite beaten up - and much less lustrous than the trucks which carry them around.
