1992 photo Redhill rally.

Merryweather Marquis, but not an AEC Mercury. It's a Maudslay Merlin II, chassis no 50508. New as a foam tender to London and Thames Haven Oil Wharves Ltd. This appliance was the subject of a two page feature article in the ACV Gazette when built.

Anybody know anything more. I can find no images of this on the internet and it seems it does not survive.

I recall that this was donated by Shell Haven to the Fire Services National Benevolent Fund in the mid/late '70s. It spent some time stored at East Greenwich (Tunnel Ave) and then disappeared. Clearly time & effort was spent as it looks quite smart in this photo.
