Their principal role is to bring additional specifically qualified BSPP members to USAR incidents, as their USAR tenders and roll on/ off containers are not equipped with seating for a full response quotient. Despite having large numbers of quite old structures, Paris does not experience a heavy load of these incidents - but the BSPP seems to be well equipped and prepared for them in any case.
