With its rear mounted light pump and a trailer, not to mention the four door cab, extensive lockers and both the hose carts and ladders, this must be one of the most comprehensive fire truck builds of all the hundreds of ex US army GMC 6X6 trucks that ended up with fire services in France after WWII. Quite a few were extensively modified like this, but the great majority had a much simpler update, with a 2000 to 3000 litre tank, a small portable pump with a 19 mm hose reel - and a rather basic open crew bench plus only a couple of boxes for small gear.
