WA59 FUD Devon & Somerset FRS M.A.N JDC Vema ALP
On the evening of 25 August 2024, there was a fire in the Quedam shopping centre in Yeovil. Living in Yeovil Town Centre, I went out to take photos of whatever appliances I could see from areas where members of the public were able to watch events from. This picture was taken from the Labour Club car park on the opposite side of road to the bus station, and I was standing on the public side of all taped off areas. By this stage, it was starting to get dark, so I was unable to take any more photos. One of the appliances to attend was this ALP, which is WA59 FUD, an M.A.N with bodywork by John Dennis Coachworks and Vema booms.

Vema aerial ladder platforms are built in Finland, and are in widespread use in several European countries as well as further afield. But, unlike the Swedish Bronto equivalents, they do not seem to have turned up very often in British fire brigades.

A lot of the appliances in the Devon & Somerset fleet nowadays don't seem to display any station names or numbers that I can see, so identifying which station an appliance belongs to can often be next to impossible.
This one is (August 2024) is I believe Taunton's ALP, and has always been based there. Yeovil has an identical one, which is WA59 FUE.
