picture 45107 depicts the second series low profile Magirus-Iveco ladder, which - although still rather odd looking - nowhere near as weird as the original version shown here. Berlin was the first customer for the low profile Magirus, as they wanted a ladder which was no higher than their old MAN normal control ones. Now, both the Mercedes Econic and more recently the new low profile cab Scanias are quite commonly chosen for aerial chassis as alternatives to the Iveco, which has not proven to be the most reliable truck choice over recent years.
