Note the hydrant standpipe on the hose cart. Obviously this brigade thinks its carts will be used for supply rather than attack, suggesting a rather good hydrant supply environment, with the SOP being to place the pumper nearer the fire than on top of the hydrant- an approach which has evolved in the US since the widespread adoption of LDH. Contrast this with Paris, where the carts are set up with attached rolls of lightweight attack hose with nozzles already in situ. In Germany, most fire services seem to follow the Swiss model, but some prefer to think of their hose carts as an attack tool. This is also true in Japan , because a lot of supply sources are cisterns rather than pressurized hydrants.
