All front line Berlin rescue pumpers now have CAFS, with a system which has a capacity of up to 3200 LPM of class A foam, utilizing two inductors each consuming up to 400 LPM with a 4X expansion ratio. The foam is used as the go to medium for most structure fires, vehicle fires and outdoor vegetation fires and - although the pumpers are frequently set in to a hydrant as a precaution - in the great majority of situations the 1200 litre on board water tank is more than enough to achieve extinction.
