With a 2000 LPM pump and a 2000 litre tank, the HLF 20/20 is the closest standard German DIN specification to the common British pump rescue water tender, and some, with a 12 or 15 meter ladder, are very much like the RPWTL. One difference is that, while many have a six seat cab, others still have larger crew cabs for seven, eight or nine. These are particularly popular with volunteer companies, who can often muster larger crews. Another common difference is that quite a few are 4X4, even in some city fleets.
Although they are very common, almost all volunteers and many full time fire services also operate the smaller (and less expensive) HLF 10/10 units in large numbers too.
