Very well designed and executed bodywork, presumably saving quite a noticeable amount of money by making full use of the existing factory cab front panel, windscreen and doors. Most TKs, such as the ubiquitous HCB Angus versions, had a full width cowl and fabricated front doors, which did look pretty good but did not add any particular extra benefits. And at a cost! Another less important but perhaps also less obvious benefit of the brigade workshop’s design would have been the lower cost of accident repairs to the front of the tender - something which was not an all that unusual event.
