SAVIEM Super Galion SG4, A collector indeed I would say 60', the yellow beacons were changed to blue in 1971 in France

Fontainebleau had a similar unit on Citroen chassis in the early 1970s when I was living there, along with three larger pumpers, two Mercedes CCFs and various specials including a Saviem grande echelle.

J-P. Do you happen to know if these were FPTL or PS designated units? They obviously had a water tank and hose reel system, but I am not sure of the capacity.

It seems a lot of fire services used them, as they were compact and maneuverable, which was a much needed feature in towns with older buildings and narrow streets.

Rob, pertinent question, I would say the above SAVIEM is a PS. Premier-Secours. The FPTL rear equipment and capacity are more furnished usually.

Thanks, good to know
