1985 appliance served Stroud. I do not know what the TC in the RG13 label signifies.

TC Turbo Charged?

Added by John Johnstone on 27 April 2023.
Back in the late sixties when we introduced the Ford D series fire appliance chassis the first diesel offering was a turbocharged version of our five liter six cylinder engine. This increased its horsepower from 110 to 140, which was comparable to the AEC AV 470 then.

A few years later we offered the 170 horsepower Perkins 510 V8, which had 170, and was also installed in Dennis, Dodge and ERF fire appliance chassis, but several brigades still preferred the turbo six, as it was less expensive.
