US Forest Service Wildland Engine

Soon to be retired, Engine 19 serves in the Angeles National Forest in the mountains east of Los Angeles. Wildland firefighters ride in the compartment at the front of the body. Nearly one hundred of the machines were delivered to National Parks in the western US. The rig is built on a mid-size Ford 4x4 chassis.

My regards to Lou Angeli for all the excellent pictures it's good to see appliances and equipment used in other countries.

Hope this isn't seen as meant to criticize, but this engine belonged to the U.S. Forest Service (aka USFS) (Dept of Agrigulture). The National Park Service (Dept of Interior) (aka NPS) is a completely different agency from a different government branch.
