This is a pretty standard older ladder tower. Although some fire departments specify these with a built in pump and a small water tank, most - like this - do not. Instead the extensive locker space contains a pretty comprehensive collection of rescue equipment including shoring and extricating equipment. Numerous ground ladders up to 15 metres are carried inside the body under the ladder and accessed by being slid out at the rear of the vehicle. The tower is plumbed to supply water to the monitor in the basket, so to speed up its role as a water tower, but it needs to be supplied by a pumper. The monitor is usually a 1000 gpm (3640 litre) capacity unit, and some ladder towers nowadays have dual monitors.

I should mention these are usually between 95 and 110 feet, 29 to 33.5 metres, although a few 125 foot (38 meter) towers are around.
