This rather old fashioned manually operated roof monitor on top of the cab has the advantage that it can't suffer from an electrical malfunction, nor is it liable to get crunched in an accident like a bumper mounted alternative. But it does need two crew members if it is to be operated while on the move, which may not always be ideal...
