Refurbishing older specification trucks to bring them in line with current specifications can be economically very advantageous.

In Germany it rather unusual, but as units are handed down from full time stations to volunteers in the same town - as in this case - it does sometimes occur, especially where volunteers don't already have a rescue unit or rescue pumper available.
