I recently saw the city’s new 64 meter TL attempting to help out at a roof fire in a high rise office building which was undergoing renovation. But it could not reach the roof! So crews had to deal with the fire the old fashioned way, by working their way up using construction elevators and stairs, then using a fortunately well placed construction crane to get a hose line up to them. Another example of a major expenditure on a very highly sophisticated piece of equipment which unsurprisingly proved totally useless when confronted by a roof fire in a building taller than it could reach.
