Yorkshire Fire Museum 1970’s

During decluttering a few old photos have come to light. Some were taken back in the late 1970’s by me at the then Yorkshire Fire Museum in Batley, West Yorks. This is an external shot, sorry about the quality of these pics but technical problems and a basic camera…I’ve been unable to find much information about this museum except that it was originally a drill hall for the military.

Thanks for posting your Yorkshire Fire Museum pictures Stephen. The museum opened to the public on 31st May 1976 and it was hoped it would form part of a wider redevelopment scheme in the town. Unfortunately, after not many years, it was redeveloped itself and I think the site was used for a supermarket.
