One of the newest of this type, with this photo nicely illustrating the dual hose reels typical of these well designed brush trucks. The red reel is a 19 mm high pressure reel with a 50 to 150 LPM nozzle. This can be deployed while the truck is moving by a firefighter on foot, if required, as these have pump and roll ability. The yellow hose is unlined 32 or 38 mm flat hose, for operations as a static line.
In addition, most of these have a self protection high pressure system incorporated into the yellow roll cage around the cab, a sparge pipe or wheel arch nozzles to keep the tires cool and a roof or bumper mounted monitor for use on larger fires, which can also be deployed on the move. There are several versions, with tanks up to 6000 litres on two axles, and most are designed to carry a crew of four. Across France the fire services have a total fleet of nearly 4, 500 brush units, actually slightly outnumbering their pumpers for urban structure firefighting.
